In short: SEO helps you be found in Google, while GEO and AEO help you be cited in AI answers. The basics are the same: useful content, clear structure and trust signals.

The differences, plainly

  • SEO: positions in classic results.
  • AEO: direct answers, for example in answer boxes and voice assistants.
  • GEO: presence in answers generated by AI models.

What you do, concretely

  1. Answer first. The first two sentences of the page say directly what it is and for whom.
  2. Use real questions as headings. The ones from your search research and from customers’ questions.
  3. Add structured data. Organisation, service, FAQ, article, breadcrumbs.
  4. Show author and date. Trust is built with real people and up-to-date information.
  5. Make pages easy for machines to read. Clean HTML, no content hidden in images or heavy scripts.
  6. Check access. The robots.txt file and the sitemap must allow access where you want to be cited.

What does not work

Mass-generated text with no value does not earn trust. Neither do duplicated city pages. Every page needs real information.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to do something separate for AI?

Not separately. What helps people and Google also helps AI engines: clear answers, structure and trust.
