How to choose a digital agency: eight questions to ask

Updated · 2 min read · by the Webtailor team

A business meeting concluded with a handshake

In short: a good agency asks you more questions than it answers in the first conversation. Ask these eight questions and compare the answers.

1. What does the process look like, step by step?

Discovery, strategy, execution, launch and optimisation. If it cannot describe the steps, it probably does not follow them.

2. What exactly do I get?

Deliverables must be written down: pages, languages, copy, integrations, training.

3. How do we measure success?

Indicators are set before launch: enquiries, orders, positions, qualified traffic.

4. Who owns the website, domain and accounts?

The right answer: you. Ad accounts, analytics and the domain must be in your name.

5. Who actually works on the project?

Ask who designs, who writes and who develops, and who your contact is.

6. What happens after launch?

Maintenance, updates and support must be clear, not left to chance.

7. What can’t they promise?

If they promise guaranteed Google positions or quick results, be careful. Nobody controls the algorithms.

8. How do we communicate?

Meeting frequency, reporting and response times, discussed from the start.
